I found treasure at Knox Rail Salvage

My dad and I were killing some time downtown (after one meeting and before another) this morning. We pulled into Knox Rail Salvage, a place I’d never been before. They have a little bit of just about everything.

Back on one of the shelves there were a bunch of old records. Of course, whenever I find an old stack of records, I feel the need to thumb through every single one of them to see if perchance there’s one from the likes of Dylan, Simon & Garfunkel, The Beatles, or even Peter, Paul and Mary. I didn’t find any of those but I did find a couple of albums from The Eagles: Eagles(1972) and One of These Nights(1975). At $1.98 a pop, I figured why not, eh? I look forward to seeing if they still play nicely in my grandfather’s old player…

Any of you crazies out there listen to vinyl? If so, which albums are your favorite? Let me know in the comments!

  1. I bet you're not surprised, but I listen to vinyl… haha. Pretty much everything you listed is great. I also love the sound of newer albums on vinyl – the only two I have are Needtobreathe's "The Outsiders" and Trent Dabbs's EP from a few years ago… Can't beat vinyl tho! I'm really tempted to buy John Mayer's "Battle Studies" album and try it out too…
